    The Day You Were Born

In honor of your 5th birthday next week, I thought I’d share your favorite story.  The story of the day you were born, of course! It all started on a Thursday morning.  It was just like any other day  – your dad and I went to work as usual.  At about 9:30 in the morning, I started having contractions.  They were pretty regular  – two to three minutes apart consistently, so I called your dad and told him it was time to go home. You see, it was forecasted to snow that day and I didn’t want to get stuck at work or in traffic, if you were really coming.  🙂…

    This is us!

Hello!  I’m Beth.  I am married to my college sweetheart, Boo – although, neither of us graduated. Ha!  It’s where we met.  We have a daughter, Emma, who loves having her photo taken ;), and an overweight but incredibly sweet golden retriever, Tula. We live in a little house in a little town in Arkansas, less than ten minutes from “the” lake.  Boo is into race cars; I am into traveling and all things home.  Somehow, we make it work. 😉 We bought our first home in 2016.  We loved it… LOVED it.  But, it was in a subdivision with neighbors in front of, behind, and next to.  We didn’t think…

    #MoodBoardMonday – Living Room

I love creating mood or design boards.  I think it’s an absolute must before making any purchases for your home, no matter how small they may be.  Without having a clear picture of what you’re going for, it’s easy to buy things that don’t really “go.” Pinterest is my favorite place to start gathering general ideas, and then I like to put it all together by using the Morpholio app.   With the app, you can add photos from the photo library on your phone (or on the internet) of the actual products you want.   I kind of use my design boards as a shopping list, at least for the big…

How to Begin to Live Intentionally (+ a free printable)

To me, intentional living is living your life according to certain principles and values, and ensuring that every action you take in your life is purposeful. Every single thing you do should propel you toward the realization of the vision you have for your life.  If what you are doing every day does not get you closer to realizing your dreams – whatever they are – you should not be doing it and it’s a waste of your most precious gift: your time on this earth. Imagine if you actually lived your life that way… every second of every day. What could you do?  Where would you be?  What would…

    Around Here Lately

Hello!  It’s been a while.  You know, when I restarted this blog, I had every intention of posting 3 times a week.  “Woops,” she says sheepishly.  🙂  I still fully intend on committing to that at some point.  Perhaps after our upcoming trip to Paris (!) and the holidays are over. I’ve also not been doing as much updating or renovating or decorating (or cooking, ha!) as I planned on doing by this time – we’ve lived here over a month already!  But, we ended up having to fork over a lot of time and resources dealing with a more pressing issue – our well.  I will talk about that in another post very soon.  I…

    Front Door Before & After

The front porch has been number one on my list of renovation priorities since we bought our home.  It’s the face of the house after all!  There are several things I plan on doing to add character here, but I tackled the first this weekend: painting the door.  Eventually I want to replace the door altogether (I’m thinking a Dutch style like this one), but for now a nice coat of pink paint adds just enough charm to tide me over. 🙂 Here is what the front of the house looked like before: The light was really on my side here, so this photo makes it look better than it really was.…
