    Paris: a 7-Day Itinerary

This post may contain affiliate links. Please read my disclosure for more info. Paris – the City of Light. Mais oui! The history; the architecture; the food; the drink; the art. Ooh la la! Paris is hard to beat. I first went to Paris in December of 2018. It was a dream come true! I spent several months planning, researching, and creating an itinerary. Now, I’m not usually an “itinerary” kind of traveler. However, I am so glad I had one for Paris. The list of things I wanted to do was exhaustive. I know I wouldn’t have been able to do even half of what I did had I not had a plan. Narrow Down Your Must Do’s There are endless…

6 Easy Crockpot Freezer Meals + What I Spent

I first tried my hand at Crockpot Freezer Meals four or five years ago. I loved it and I’m not really sure why I stopped, but I’ve been consistently doing it for the last month. It’s been life-changing! I work full-time, and have an hour plus commute home after work. It’s nearly impossible for me to cook dinner after work during the week and get Emma bathed and to bed at a reasonable time AND have any time to relax. The math just doesn’t work. We also have a gas stove now, and a pretty small propane tank that isn’t just for our stove. We also use the gas to…

    Budget Update: Bathroom

I’ve been itching to do something about our outdated little bathroom since the day we moved in.  We will eventually do a complete gut (and possibly an expansion), but I tackled a couple simple, budget-friendly updates over the weekend. You’ll see we’ve got a long way to go.  A looooooong way.  *insert sweating emoji* I’ve got a long wish list when it comes to this bathroom.  I mean, man, it just makes me sad to look at it.  But, with limited time and resources, I was able to give it a small facelift. All I did was sand the vanity and spray paint a few things. I used a mouse…

    Paris: Pickpockets + Protests

Is a trip to Paris really complete without getting pickpocketed? 🙂 When researching for our trip to Paris, I read a lot about pickpockets and what a problem they were in Paris.  I was determined to be diligent… there was NO WAY I was going to fall victim to a pickpocket. I always wore my purse inside/underneath my coat, which wasn’t exactly convenient considering most museum security lines require your bag to be scanned. This meant taking my coat and then purse off every time we went in a museum.  Not fun, especially when it was cold and rainy (which it was basically every day).  But, it did prevent anyone stealing my…

  • About

    This is us!

Hello!  I’m Beth.  I am married to my college sweetheart, Boo – although, neither of us graduated. Ha!  It’s where we met.  We have a daughter, Emma, who loves having her photo taken ;), and an overweight but incredibly sweet golden retriever, Tula. We live in a little house in a little town in Arkansas, less than ten minutes from “the” lake.  Boo is into race cars; I am into traveling and all things home.  Somehow, we make it work. 😉 We bought our first home in 2016.  We loved it… LOVED it.  But, it was in a subdivision with neighbors in front of, behind, and next to.  We didn’t think…

    #MoodBoardMonday – Living Room

I love creating mood or design boards.  I think it’s an absolute must before making any purchases for your home, no matter how small they may be.  Without having a clear picture of what you’re going for, it’s easy to buy things that don’t really “go.” Pinterest is my favorite place to start gathering general ideas, and then I like to put it all together by using the Morpholio app.   With the app, you can add photos from the photo library on your phone (or on the internet) of the actual products you want.   I kind of use my design boards as a shopping list, at least for the big…

How to Begin to Live Intentionally (+ a free printable)

To me, intentional living is living your life according to certain principles and values, and ensuring that every action you take in your life is purposeful. Every single thing you do should propel you toward the realization of the vision you have for your life.  If what you are doing every day does not get you closer to realizing your dreams – whatever they are – you should not be doing it and it’s a waste of your most precious gift: your time on this earth. Imagine if you actually lived your life that way… every second of every day. What could you do?  Where would you be?  What would…

    Budget Update: Front Door

This post may contain affiliate links.  Please read my disclosure for more info. The front porch has been number one on my list of renovation priorities since we bought our home. After all, it’s the face of the house.  There are several things I plan on doing to add character here, but I tackled the first this weekend: painting the door.  Eventually, the front door will be replaced altogether (perhaps a Dutch style like this one), but for now a nice coat of pink paint adds just enough charm to tide me over. Here is what the front of the house looked like before: The light was really on my side here,…
